Finland' mobile service provider Ukkoverkot and Huawei have signed a contract to deploy a commercial LTE 450MHz network on the LTE 450MHz Global event in Amsterdam.

Zain Saudi Arabia (Zain KSA) has signed network expansion and upgrade agreements worth US $1.2 billion with five technology companies: Huawei, Nokia, NEC, Cisco, and Alcatel Lucent. The agreements aim to enhance Zain KSA’s customer experience and to improve and expand Zain’s network capacity, coverage and speed.

Huawei announced the successful implementation of the GSM-LTE Dynamic Spectrum Sharing (GL DSS) trial with Vodafone Spain today. GL DSS is able to improve LTE capacity by up to 50% through maximizing wireless spectrum utilization, reports Huawei.

Huawei and South Korea's mobile operator LG Uplus have jointly completed a commercial network field trail of 3 different band Carrier Aggregation (3CC CA). LG Uplus currently has 7.5 million LTE subscribers across three commercial LTE network bandwidths of 800 MHz, 2100 MHz and 2600 MHz. 

Huawei has announced the successful completion of a LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) Category 6 connectivity test with download speeds reaching up to 300 Mbps. This test was jointly completed with Qualcomm Technologies.

Huawei and China Mobile have verified multiple core TD-LTE-Advanced technologies including FDD/TDD Carrier Aggregation, MSA, 256QAM, inter-site CoMP, and MU-MIMO in a field test conducted at Chengdu Electronic Technology University. 

South Korea's mobile service provider LG Uplus and Huawei will deploy WDM/OTN technology for common public radio interface (CPRI) backhaul on LG UpLus's LTE-Advanced network.

Canada's Telecom provider ABC Communications has partnered with Huawei to deploy TD-LTE fixed wireless service in British Columbia. ABC’s new network provides a wireless alternative to cable and ADSL for last mile broadband access. 

Zambia's communication solutions provider Zamtel today launched its 4G LTE service in Kitwe. Zamtel has also set up a walk-in 4G Live Experiential Centre at its Kitwe offices, where customers can experience LTE in operation.

Huawei successfully completed an interoperability test (IOT) for an Ultra-Flash Circuit-switched fallback (CSFB) solution with Huawei infrastructure and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. chipsets at Huawei’s Shanghai R&D facility.
