Telefonica Mexico is deploying LTE in the country  through its Movistar brand. The LTE service will be available from October this year. The announcement was made by Juan Antonio Abellán, CEO of Telefónica Mexico.

Chile's regulator Subtel  has awarded LTE spectrum to country's three largest mobile operators in auctions that raised more than US$12 million.

Telefonica Germany plans to kick off its new generation of mobile Internet with LTE mobile on 3rd July. O2 LTE will initially be available in the high-speed areas Nuremberg and Dresden, closely followed by Munich and Leipzig.

Telefonica today introduced live experience of Smart 4G network at the Mobile World Congress. The network deploys 2.6Ghz frequency band and provides download speeds of 100 Mbps, between 40-60Mbps on upload, says operator.

O2 has announced beginning of 4G LTE network trial in London. The trial will run for the next nine months.

Telefonica Germany has expanded it's LTE product range and now offering plan called O2 Business LTE. O2 Business LTE can be booked starting on October 5. 

Telefonica has launched LTE pilot network in collaboration with Alcatel-Lucent.

Telefonica, Vodafone and Orange have won Spain's LTE auction held last week by the Spanish Ministry of Industry. Operators paid €1.65bn between them for 800MHz and 2.6GHz licenses.

Telefónica Germany plans to start LTE services from July 1, 2011. Operator is offering mobile broadband services under the name "O2 LTE at Home".
