UK Service Provider O2 has launched commercial 5G in several major cities enabled by Ericsson 5G Cloud Core and 5G Radio Access Network (RAN) products and solutions. O2's 5G networks have been switched on in Edinburgh, Cardiff, Belfast and Leeds, supporting commercially available O2 5G smartphones.
UK operators Vodafone and O2 have launched their commercial LTE services in country today. Vodafone's LTE network is currently available in London where as O2's LTE network is available in London, Leeds and Bradford.
UK's O2 has announced a range of 4G tariffs with data bundles for its upcoming 4G network. From 29th August, O2 will offer 4G tariffs starting at £26 a month, which all include unlimited minutes and texts, bigger data bundles from 1GB – 8GB, free access to 9,000 O2 Wifi hotspots.

Telefonica O2 is testing LTE in the region of Banska Bystrica, Slovakia. The exercise will run until 31 August 2010. O2 is using 2.66 GHz frequency spectrum for tests.
