Angle of Arrival (AOA) Estimation, Motivation in LTE networks

Hi all,
As my thesis work, I have estimated AOA in LTEi networks in uplink at eNodeBi. Now i will have my defense on 5th of August.
My problem is " that what is the real motivation for AOA estimation (UEi positioning) in LTE networks"?
One of the advantage could be that UE positioning using AOA in LTE networks could provide us better accuracy as compared to GPS system in Non line of sight (NLOS) scenarios. But this seem a weak motivation.
I am looking for a motivation, for example, once we locate UEs, could we increase the capacity of the network, by cancelling the interference between them....
I would appreciate your help, as it would really help me in my presentation.
