5G is poised to bring many new services and applications to the telecoms and wireless industry. As a decentralized network concept, 5G components will be deployed throughout the network, each requiring strict adherence to security measures.
5G Americas President, Chris Pearson, talks about how the wireless industry is moving towards adopting cloud-native principles such as containerization, micro services, DevOps, control and user plane separation, service mesh, and continuous "everything" for toolchains.
Take a look at where 5G New Radio is today, explore the unique challenges for test and measurement and discover innovative solutions with Rohde & Schwarz.
The video demonstrates how to perform 5G NR network measurements at 3.5 GHz. In the example shown, the R&S®SMW200A vector signal generator generates a 5G NR signal. The captured RF measurements are visualized with the R&S®ROMES4 drive test software that supports real-time network analysis, optimization and troubleshooting.
This interview was recorded during the 3GPP TSG Plenary meetings, in Lisbon, December 21, 2017.
Guy Daniels, the Director of content at TelecomTV, talks to Balazs Bertenyi (TSG RAN Chairman) and Erik Guttman (TSG SA Chairman) about the achievements at that meeting - namely the news of the "First 5G NR Specs Approved"
At its plenary meeting in Lisbon this week, the 3GPPi completed the first 5G NR specification. That’s a new radio standard that will, for the moment, work alongside the LTEi core network in so-called "non standalone mode". The work was part of the first drop of Release 15 – the cellular specifications that will define 5G.
Ericsson together with Qualcomm and in collaboration with 9 leading telecom operators conducted a multivendor 5G interoperability test compliant with the approved global 3GPPi standard for 5G New Radio (NR) Non-standalone (NSA).
This talk covers the basics of Massive MIMOi and recent results on how to deploy the technology, and how big the base stations will be. The speaker is Associate Professor Emil Björnson, Linköping University, Sweden.
ETSI Summit on 5G Network Infrastructure: SESSION A: Challenges for the development of the 5G infrastructure. Strategic direction of related 5G infrastructure work in 3GPPi. Presented by Georg Mayer, 3GPP CT Chair
Webinar explains the different features for low-power IoT designs and explore the value of end-to-end testing under real-life network conditions based on a unique test solution that allows very precise power and current measurements.
This webinar will address the variants supported in the standards and current relevant market solutions to bring to light some of the keys aspects that are needed to be addressed for a seamless operation.
