LTE Inter-cell/ inter-site distance

Hello,
- Is there a way to estimate inter-cell (inter-site) distance in LTEi? (using equations, if I know cell radius)
- Also, how to know the optimal inter-cell distance from simulations?
i.e. what parameters do I observe to judge on the best inter-cell distance?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
