I have a question about LTEⁱ central 72 sub-carrier and Primary Synchronization signal transmission. I know that it is transmitted six resource blocks (RBⁱ) around the DC subcarrier in frequency domain and twice per radio frame (Subframe 0 and 5) . My question is, are these 72 sub-carriers reserved for PSS (or SSS) for all time slots or they are used (for whatever purpose) in other time slots ? In other words, Do these frequencies are used for transmitting data or different control signal in other time slots ?

I actually just read this document about LTE cell search (http://www.rohde-schwarz.com/en/applications/cell-search-and-cell-select...). At page 6 of last paragraph says this bandwidth is reserved for synchronization signal and independent from channel bandwidth. But some people suggest that they are used by PDSCH in differnet time slots. So I am bit confused. Please elaborate your answer.
