SMS in LTE Network

Can any one explain that Is it possible to send/receive SMS in LTEⁱ network, If yes then How does it work ?

One of the option is to send SMS from UEⁱ in NASⁱ containter to MMEⁱ and than MME need to breakout to MSC/VLR using SgS interface.
