Alcatel-Lucent Ultimate Wireless Packet Core (UWPC) is all-IP, high-performance, reliable and scalable converged 2.5G/3G and LTE mobile packet core that is optimized for delivering both voice and multi-media rich wireless broadband. It extends the Alcatel-Lucent Evolved Packet Core (EPC) for LTE by adding the gateway support node functions (SGSN and GGSN) to simultaneously support LTE and 2.5G/3G (GPRS/EDGE, W-CDMA/HSPA/HSPA+) on a common converged core.
