Why does my MME request 2 different DIAMETER E-UTRAN vectors for the same UE?

When my UEi initially attaches to the network I see that the MMEi makes 2 separate DIAMETER Authentication Information Requests to the HSS and receives 2 different E-UTRANi vectors back in return. The first vector I receive back seems to be the one that de-ciphers my NASi messages. What is the second vector used for and how do you know when to use it instead of the first?

Usually one request should be sufficient, better check with MMEi vendor why 2 requests. It may be storing it for next use ???
