  • As the market is taking off driven by early LTE efforts, LTE revenues have reached over $ 2.1 Billion, up from $ 0.6 Billion in 2010, says a report from Mind Commerce. As of Q4'2011 the North America region accounts for over 42 % of the total LTE Infrastructure revenue.

  • Huawei has announced the commercial launch of the Automatic Neighbor Relation (ANR) feature on LTE networks in Cologne, Germany. The 3GPP standardized ANR feature is one of the important features of overall Self-Organizing Network (SON) solution. 

  • Despite faster operator commitments for LTE deployment, HSPA investments are not slowing down. Confirming that HSPA+ is quickly expanding, GSA reports that a total of 241 operators have committed to HSPA+ network deployments, representing an increase of over 62% in the past year. HSPA+ networks are being deployed in 106 countries, 39 countries more than a year ago.

  • LTE is driving current mobile devices and equipment market and is expected to claim the major share of wireless spending next few years as mobile carriers migrate

  • LG has launched the Optimus Pad LTE, a 4G LTE capable 8.9-inch tablet running Android Honeycomb operating system.

  • Huawei has launched LTE TDD /FDD /UMTS/ GSM multi-mode Mobile WiFi device, the E589 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012.
