Cable & Wireless Communications (trading as LIME) has completed the roll-out of its new 4G LTE network in Cayman Islands. The network was installed by Ericsson as sole supplier, covering 100% of the islands. Ericsson has also expanded LIME’s existing HSPA network, which now covers 100% of the islands. 

French service provider has selected Bouygues Telecom for upgrade of its 2G/3G radio networks and rollout of 4G LTE equipments. Operator plans to transform its existing 2G and 3G radio networks in order to improve network performance as data traffic increases and more people move into French cities.

US carrier New Core Wireless, in partnership with select rural wireless operators, has selected Ericsson to supply and implement its 4G/LTE network.  Under the terms of the agreement, Ericsson will supply New Core Wireless its Evolved Packet Core LTE solution, along with its LTE radio network to New Core Wireless’ partners. 

Japanese operator NTT DOCOMO has unveiled its 2013 summer lineup of 11 models, including nine smartphones, one tablet and one Raku-Raku SMART PHONE, for launch in Japan on or after May 17. All new models are compatible with DOCOMO's LTE service for a max.

Vodafone UK has announced that company is increasing investment in its network this year and preparing for the launch of 4G LTE services by the late summer. Operator expects spending increase of 50% to more than £900m in the current financial year.
