7Layers Adds Anritsu ME7873L LTE Conformance Test System For Additional LTE Certification Capacity
Irvine, Calif. – 21 June, 2012 - 7Layers, an international group of engineering and test centers, recently purchased an ME7873L LTE RF Conformance Test (RFCT) system from Anritsu, a global provider of innovative communications test and measurement solutions, in an effort to expand its certification test capabilities. 7Layers is looking to provide its customers with additional LTE testing options and meet increased demand for LTE testing.
The Anritsu ME7873L will enhance 7Layers’ ability to perform multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) testing, due to the ME7873L’s support for both 2x2 and 4x2 MIMO testing. MIMO has attracted much recent interest because of its ability to increase speed and data throughput without extra investments in additional bandwidth by network operators. MIMO will be important to achieving higher download and upload rates for LTE-enabled devices and create a better user experience.
“To meet expanding demand and increase the amount of test equipment options for our customers, we have decided to add Anritsu test equipment to our lab,” said David Bissonette, CEO of 7Layers, Inc. “We want to be able to match the test equipment being used in-house by our customers, to provide that extra amount of confidence that devices will pass certification testing.”
7Layers has the engineering know-how and LTE certification experience to work with its customers to meet certification requirements and avoid delays in going-to-market. With this purchase, 7Layers is meeting the needs of its customers who are expanding the amount of LTE-enabled devices they are releasing to consumers.
“We are pleased that 7Layers has decided to purchase an ME7873L,” remarked Wade Hulon, Vice President and General Manager of Anritsu Company. “We are committed to providing leading-edge test solutions to the LTE device supply chain and are proud of our leadership in the overall LTE conformance test market.”
