Chicago, USA – 7th of August – Anite, a global leader in mobile device and network testing technology, today announced that its test solutions are being used to assess the US LTE public safety network and associated devices.

NIST, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, is working with government agencies and device manufacturers to ensure that any LTE enabled public safety device operates effectively on the soon to be deployed US public safety LTE Network. Delivering services to approximately 60,000 federal, state and local agencies, the network will be operated by the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet) and will replace a patchwork of different systems in use today.

A high quality service is paramount in the public safety industry in order to ensure continuous communication and access to mission critical functionality. With a 20-year history of working alongside global mobile operators and leading device manufacturers, Anite plays a key role in making sure devices and networks work as intended, resulting in a high quality of experience for demanding end-users. Anite has a wealth of expertise in both compliance and interoperability of LTE mobile devices and has achieved a number of industry firsts, such as the development of the first LTE protocol test system in 2007. Anite’s leadership can be further demonstrated by to date being responsible for more than 80% of all LTE test case verification submissions to 3GPP RAN5 for the PTCRB certification requirements.

Anite also provides one of the strongest and most versatile ranges of LTE network testing products – under the Nemo brand – to ensure a consistently high quality of service for mobile device users. Nemo products are trusted by world leading operators and network vendors in over 100 countries.

Anite will be exhibiting at the largest U.S. public safety event of the year, the 78th Annual APCO International Conference, taking place in Minneapolis from the 19th to the 22nd of August.

Kevin Winters, VP of US Wireless Sales at Anite commented that: “As one of the earliest pioneers of LTE device and network testing, Anite is proud to support the deployment of a nationwide public safety LTE network”.  “Anite has a strong presence in the US, working closely with the major US carriers” he continues.
