Aviat Networks Announces $19 Million Public Safety Order
Mission Critical Microwave Leader Adds Large U.S. County Customer for FirstNet-ready Communications
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 5, 2014 -- Aviat Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVNW), the leading expert in microwave networking solutions, today announced it received a $19 million purchase order for a public safety communications backhaul system. This order reaffirms that Aviat's mission-critical microwave solution remains the trusted choice for first responder communications.
The project includes IP-based microwave products and all associated engineering, installation, post-sales support and extended warranty services. As with many of the Company's public safety contracts, revenue will be recognized over several quarters.
"The county is overhauling its current network with a state-of-the-art P25 digital system that will result in ultra reliable communications with enhanced capacity and security," says Tony Ljubicich, vice president, sales and services, North America, Aviat Networks. "Aviat will be responsible for providing a turnkey microwave system that the county can count on for the foreseeable future."
Now backed by an Aviat microwave network, the county's P25 digital system will deliver first responder communications designed for the 21st century. In addition, the county's system will have the ultra-high capacity, security and mission critical reliability necessary to join its state's public safety network and the nationwide First Responder LTE Network.
