Cbeyond Offers New Tri-Band Advanced LTE Devices to Business Customers
Atlanta, July 8, 2014 – Cbeyond Inc. (NASDAQ: CBEY), the Technology Ally™ for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs), today announced the addition of new premium mobile devices to its growing portfolio of advanced connected devices for business.
The new lineup includes the Samsung Galaxy S® 5, Samsung Galaxy Note® 3 and LG G2 smartphones, and the NETGEAR® Zing Mobile Hotspot™, which are Tri-Band Advanced Long Term Evolution (LTE) devices. These devices work on three wireless frequencies: 800, 1900 and 2500 MHz, and can operate at speeds up to 50 to 60 Mbps – roughly 10 times faster than existing 4G speeds.
“Our business customers are asking for higher performing smartphones and connected devices to take advantage of the increasing number of business applications that improve business communications and productivity,” said Scott McPherson, senior product manager, Mobile and Product Marketing, at Cbeyond. “Our device portfolio is growing and evolving to meet this demand.”
The Samsung Galaxy S 5 is designed for business users who expect a richer experience from their phones. The lightweight (5.1 oz.) Android 4.4 device features a 2.5 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and supports up to 128 GB of memory. With 4G LTE, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options, its 5.1 inch High Definition display (with 1920x1080 pixels) offers crisp clear views of text, pictures and video. S 5 users also enjoy up to 19 hours of extra-long battery life.
The NETGEAR Zing Mobile Hotspot has a color display and enables secure WiFi connectivity for up to 15 devices, even if the user is not in a fixed WiFi hotspot. The Zing also offers long range connectivity indoors and outdoors, with comprehensive connectivity management and up to 16 hours of continuous battery life.
The LG G2 smartphone is a favorite among multi-taskers who demand the caliber of processing power only found in a quad-core device. The G2's industry-leading 2.26 GHz chip delivers a seamless experience, whether running multiple, power-hungry apps, browsing the web at 4G LTE speeds, checking out video - or, doing it all at once. The G2 is also equally ergonomic for left- and right-handed users. Its 5.2 inch, 1080 pixel full HD in-plane switching (IPS) display and ultra-thin bezel provide an expansive screen supported by a 3,000 mAh Li-ION battery which provides up to 17 hours of use. Thanks to recent reduction in price points, Cbeyond can offer the LG G2 for zero dollars on a two-year contract.
Cbeyond is also offering the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 smartphone for customers looking for a simplified and intuitive experience. This large format Android device includes a stylus that is ideal for business applications and features a quad core processor, a 4.8 inch HD display, up to 64GB memory and up to nine hours of continuous talk time. The Note 3 also enables seamless file sharing among devices with AllShare.
The new devices take advantage of Cbeyond’s TotalCloud® Phone System (TCPS) cloud-based managed voice and communications platform, and Cbeyond’s Communications on the Go solution, which comprises TotalNetwork®, TotalCloud Phone System, Cbeyond Communicator (for desktop and mobile) and Cbeyond Mobile.
Cbeyond announced national availability of its TotalCloud Phone System and Communications on the Go services on June 19, 2014. (Editor’s note: Please reference Cbeyond Brings Enterprise-Class Cloud-Based Voice Services to SMBs Nationwide).
