SANTA BARBARA, CA--(Dec 18, 2012) - D2 Technologies, the market leader in embedded IP communications software platforms, today announced the successful completion of the second RCS VoLTE Interoperability Testing Event organized by the MultiService Forum (MSF), European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and GSMA. D2's mCUE® and vPort 4G IMS software client solutions for Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Rich Communication Suite (RCS) and IP video calling applications were tested in the event in conjunction with LTE modems from Altair Semiconductor and GCT Semiconductor, Inc., and Lantiq's XWAY™ GRX Gateway Platform.

This event focused on validating the GSMA VoLTE recommendations for UE to core network interoperability in a multivendor deployment. Test scenarios included RCS VoLTE in a single/home network and RCS VoLTE for roaming and interconnect. For more details, see MSF's recently issued white paper, "Multivendor Testing in Global RCS/VoLTE Networks."

"D2 has forged strategic relationships with leading companies such as Lantiq, Altair and GCT to provide mobile and CPE OEMs accelerated deployment of 4G LTE-enabled products," noted Doug Makishima, chief operating officer for D2 Technologies. "We're pleased to have successfully completed this test, which marks our second time to participate in the global interoperability event."

"Our recent success at MSF with D2 validates the viability of bringing turnkey products to market that give OEMs and ODMs an easier development path for 4G LTE mobile devices," said Eran Eshed, co-founder and vice president of marketing and business development of Altair Semiconductor.

"Our successful VoLTE interoperability test with D2 at the recent MSF event is further proof that we can accelerate time to market for our customers' VoLTE deployments," said Alex Sum, vice president of marketing and business development of GCT Semiconductor.

"The success of this latest collaboration with D2 at the MSF event is the official proof that our joint solution with D2 is ready for mass market deployment. We are delivering on our commitment to enable  VoLTE for broadband wireless gateways," said Dirk Wieberneit, Lantiq senior vice president and general manager of the Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) Business Unit.
