Extreme Networks to Demonstrate E4G Mobile Backhaul Solutions at Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2011
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Oct. 10, 2011 - Extreme Networks, Inc. today announced its participation in the Carrier Ethernet World Congress (CEWC) interoperability event taking place in Amsterdam. Extreme Networks will demonstrate its family of E4G mobile backhaul solutions as part of the interoperability testing event, which is organized by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC).
Some of the largest carriers run their networks on Extreme Networks, including ELISA Links, Korea Telecom, LINX of London, Mobiphone, Reliance Globalcom, and Telefonica. The E4G series mobile backhaul routers enable mobile operators to smoothly transition cells sites to 4G while maintaining existing 2G/3G investment. The solution provides the simplicity and scale of a next-generation, pure IP/Ethernet packet network to enable the cost-effective delivery of motion video, voice and data services.
The E4G mobile backhaul solution includes the E4G-200 Cell Site Router and the E4G-400 Cell Site Aggregation Router that deliver 4G mobile backhaul by offering 1-10GbE scalability, integrated Synchronous Ethernet ITU-G.8262, support for IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol, and carrier class resiliency with support for Ethernet Automatic Protection Switching (EAPS) and resilient packet rings (ITU G.8032).
With over 750 attendees in 2011 the CEWC is confirmed as the largest conference and exhibition for the Ethernet network and services industry. A white paper discussing the results of the interoperability testing will be issued on October 10 and is available for download here http://www.eantc.com/cewc2011.
