Huawei Completes IOT Capability Test for CDMA 1x-LTE CSFB on Commercial Device
Shenzhen, China, May 30, 2012: Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, today announced the successful IOT (Interoperability Test) capability testing of CDMA 1x-LTE CSFB (Circuit Switched Fallback) on commercial device. The test, using Release 8 1x CSFB and Release 9 1x eCSFB technology, demonstrates Huawei's leading position in CDMA to LTE evolution.
CSFB is an important component of CDMA to LTE evolution since it allows for data services to be able to run on LTE networks while voice service fall back to CS (Circuit Switched) packets. In the initial stages of LTE network deployment, operators usually deploy LTE to cover data hotspot areas, since VoLTE has not yet fully matured. With CSFB technology, subscribers are able to enjoy LTE mobile broadband services while continuing to have high-quality CDMA 1x voice services.
"This is an important achievement for the CDMA-LTE industry." said Wu Hui, Huawei President of CDMA/LTE Wireless Networks. "With Huawei's leading SingleRAN platform, Huawei enables synergy between CDMA and LTE. Huawei's CDMA-LTE team is committed to increasing the network capacity, helping operator protect their network investments and provide subscribers with high-quality voice service and ultra-broadband experience."
As a worldwide partner for most CDMA telecom operators, Huawei is steadfast in its commitment to investment and innovation in CDMA technologies. Huawei provides its customers with E2E products and solutions, business consulting services and industry cooperation to ensure the successful commercial network rollouts.
Through Q1 2012, Huawei has won 145 Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) commercial contracts, including 110 Data-Optimized Rev. A (DORA) contracts, three EV-DO Rev. B contracts for commercial networks, and eight EV-DO Rev. B contracts for pre-commercial networks.
