JDSU Selected by Major European Service Provider for 100GE and LTE Network Deployment

in press-release, JDSU, LTE

Milpitas, Calif., January 20, 2011 — JDSU today announced that a major European communications service provider has selected JDSU’s test solutions for the deployment of emerging 100GE and LTE next-generation networks. JDSU’s solutions will provide critical analysis and network performance metrics to find and fix service-affecting issues before they reach the consumer, help ensure that high-speed, high-bandwidth services using 4G and 100GE technologies are delivered reliably, and that the subscriber experience is of high quality.

Specifically, the service provider chose the JDSU Optical Transport Network (OTN) and 100GE tester, called the JDSU ONT-506 100GE test solution, for its ability to evaluate new transmission technologies and key performance data prior to deployment. The customer is also adding LTE technology support to its current JDSU 2G, 3G platform, including Signaling Analyzer Real Time (SART), Distributed Network Analyzer (DNA) probes, and the new 10 GE Ethernet blades, to help analyze, detect and correct performance and service-impacting issues for its LTE network.

“Mobility and growing volumes of video and other high-bandwidth content require advanced test solutions to ensure quality communications services,” said Manuel Mato, regional vice president, EMEA, JDSU Communications Test and Measurement business segment. “Our collaboration with one of the world’s largest communications service providers on 100GE and LTE testing reflects the strategic importance of these solutions as bandwidth demand and network complexities continue to grow.”
