LTE Asia 2015: Evolution and Innovation Explored as Asia’s Operators Gather
Singapore, 10 September 2015 – LTE is the fastest growing telecom standard ever and as the industry looks towards paving the path to 5G, innovations in LTE technology still remain crucially important. Asia boasts the most advanced LTE markets in the world and is leading the evolution towards the next standard. This year’s LTE Asia will bring the region’s most innovative and influential operators together to discuss deployment, evolution and optimisation of their LTE networks, with key topics such as VoLTE, Video and RCS, LTE-A and spectrum re-farming all forming part of the packed three-day agenda.
An Ovum study from Q1 2015 showed that there are 635 million LTE subscriptions worldwide. The Asia-Pacific region claims almost half of these, with a total share of global LTE subscriptions of 49%, compared to 38% one year ago. China had 162 million LTE subscriptions by March 2015, gaining 64 million during the first quarter alone. With another one billion LTE users expected to be added by 2020, the future looks promising for both mature and emerging LTE markets in Asia.
Co-located with the 5G World Asia Pacific, Network Virtualization & SDN Asia, and Telco Big Data Summit, LTE Asia’s conference and exhibition, running from 5-7 October, will bring cutting-edge talks, over 75 operator case studies, 80+ exhibitors and more than 150 speakers representing the entire LTE and 5G ecosystem.
One of the many exhibitors at the event will be CA Technologies. Speaking ahead of the event, Stephen Miles, Chief Technology Officer, Asia Pacific & Japan, CA Technologies commented; "High performing networks with rich delivery capabilities play a critical role in the shift towards digital transformation, as they have the ability to single-handedly make or break user experience for the masses. With service providers globally at the epicentre of the new application economy, LTE Asia provides a great platform for delving deeper into these issues, especially as the next billion mobile users in the region come online. We look forward to sharing our insights and adding on to the breadth and depth of discussions at the conference.”
Attending this year are some of Asia’s top mobile carriers such as China Mobile, KT from South Korea and NTT DoCoMo from Japan.
New speakers announced for September include:
·Takehiro Nakamura, VP and Managing Director of 5G Lab at NTT DOCOMO, will discuss how NTT are driving the revolution towards 5G and beyond in an opening keynote slot
·Lindayanti Harjono, Vice President of Commercial LTE at PT. Telkomsel Indonesia, will discuss the Telkomsel Case Study; analyzing their successful LTE implementation in Indonesia
·Sameer Dave, CTO at Aircel India, will discuss the strategic rationale for LTE migration from GSM/UMTS and the lessons learnt from Aircel’s recent LTE deployment
Now in its 10th year, the LTE Asia conference boasts a comprehensive agenda delivered through a number of tracks aimed at both the advanced and emerging markets of the region. 2015 will also host LTE Asia Awards to celebrate the best of Asia’s LTE market and recognise excellence amongst the most innovative products, services, solutions and applications driving the market forward.
