Master HetNet Deployments through Network Emulation with Ercom Mobipass
Paris, France, 4 November 2013 – ERCOM, the leading provider of 4G LTE eNodeB validation and optimization solutions, will demonstrate how Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) can master their HetNet deployments with network emulation at this year’s LTE North America conference. With North American subscriptions forecast to boom six-fold from 26 million at end-2012 to 162 million by end-2017*, MNOs are looking at evolving business models to manage the total cost of ownership for delivering on the promise of next generation mobile broadband services.
HetNet (Heterogeneous Network) deployments are emerging as the solution to provide more capacity so it is vital that MNOs address HetNet critical success factors. Delivered by Guy Lecurieux Lafayette, VP Marketing at Ercom for Mobipass, the Master your HetNet Deployment with Network Emulation presentation will focus on intercell interference coordination algorithms validation and power control management testing. He will also share his insight on how to de-risk SON (Self Organizing Networks) for HetNets, especially in cases where SON algorithms from different vendors co-exist.
Mobipass’ key features include thousands of simulated UEs with embedded Advanced MUCE, a unique per-UE RF channel emulator designed with scheduler testing to benchmark eNodeBs. It also includes QoS/QoE measurement to evaluate end-user perception. It has unparalleled usability based on years of experience enabling different traffic mixes and different mobility profiles for non-regression software testing.
Mr Lecurieux Lafayette will also join the Test and Measurement Best Practices panel discussion. This will highlight how to ensure performance and experience through comprehensive network measurement devices, how to reduce interference issues, and how to achieve more through optimized drive tests. The session will also explore testing the device and network to ensure security for the consumer and carrier.
Yannick Dupuch, Ercom’s CEO and previously GM of Alcatel-Lucent’s Small Cells Business Unit, says: “As HetNet deployments increase, especially in the LTE North American market, solutions to test SON and Small Cell technologies before deployment are crucial. This is particularly true when the Small Cell layer comes from another vendor than the macro layer.”
ERCOM will demonstrate Mobipass at LTE North America on 20-22 November on booth #28e.
