MWC 2013, Barcelona, Spain, February 28, 2013 – Airspan Networks Inc., a leading provider of 4G LTE-Advanced broadband wireless access networks, announced today that it has started the deployment of a 2.6 GHz TD-LTE network with Brazilian Telco ON in Sao Paulo state using its Air4G high power compact small cell.

This deployment is based on Airspan’s Air4G LTE-Advanced ready product line that delivers the highest net throughputs and operational range of any TD-LTE product available today.

The first phase of the deployment will be completed by March 2013 and then immediately enter commercial service. We expect the Air4G LTE RAN solution to be fully homologated for LTE operation in Brazil by end March. The Air4G LTE-A deployment will then be expanded to other regions of Sao Paulo state. “Consistent with ON’s strategy of offering the most advanced solutions to its customers, we are working with Airspan to adapt its LTE-A technologies to our markets,” said Mr. Nassar.
