Sequans powers new Insignia LTE tablet for Best Buy

PARIS, France – November 3, 2014 – Sequans Communications S.A. (NYSE: SQNS) announced that its LTE chip technology has been adopted by Best Buy for its latest Insignia™ tablet, the first 4G LTE tablet in Best Buy’s Insignia product line. The Insignia 4G tablet is an 8” Android tablet with embedded LTE certified for the network of Verizon Wireless.

The Sequans technology inside the Insignia 4G tablet is the VZ20M EZLinkLTE™ module, which is certified compliant with Verizon Wireless Open Network specifications and operates on LTE bands 4 and 13. VZ20M is an M.2* module based on Sequans’ Mont Blanc LTE platform. Mont Blanc is a single-mode LTE chipset platform compliant with 3GPP release 9 specifications. It delivers category 4 throughput of up to 150 Mbps and supports eMBMS (LTE broadcast) and other advanced features. The VZ20M module includes all elements necessary for a complete LTE modem system.  These include an LTE-optimized RF transceiver and a complete dual-band RF front-end for LTE bands 4 and 13, key interfaces, LP-DDR SDRAM, embedded boot Flash, and VC-TCXO, all in a single, compact package, 30 x 42 x 2.3 mm. Sequans’ EZLinkLTE modules are pre-tested, pre-integrated, and pre-certified and support all major operating systems, including Android, Windows, Linux, Google Chrome, and MAC OS.

The Insignia 4G tablet is available now nationwide in most Best Buy stores and online.
