Midland, ON – TELUS has brought the world’s fastest and most advanced wireless technology to Midland and Penetanguishene. This expansion of TELUS’ 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) service to these communities means residents can take advantage of dramatically faster wireless Internet speeds when surfing the web, reading emails, listening to music, watching videos, or using social media sites on an LTE-enabled smartphone or wireless device.

TELUS’ 4G LTE service, which offers customers wireless data (upload and download) speeds two to three times faster than previous technology, now covers 80 per cent of Canada’s population across 260 communities.

“Our customers in Midland and Penetanguishene are now among the more than 28 million Canadians who enjoy access to the world’s fastest wireless technology from TELUS,” said Darryl Hutton, TELUS director of sales. “TELUS will continue to invest in expanding our network across Ontario to bring LTE to even more communities, part of our drive to put customers first in everything we do.”

4G LTE is the new standard for wireless technology around the world, with most new handsets built to take advantage of its superior speed, including the recently-launched BlackBerry Q5, BlackBerry Z30, Nokia Lumia 1020, Samsung GALAXY Mega, and Samsung GS4 and GS3 Minis.
