Philippines’ wireless services provider Smart Communications has recently conducted LTE-Advanced trials in Metro Manila and Davao City. According to operator, Smart's test facilities achieved speeds of up to 209.66 mbps at trials held first in Makati City in cooperation with network equipment provider Huawei Philippines.

Philippines’ wireless services provider Smart Communications is launching commercial LTE services on August 25. The announcement comes after a year of LTE test deployments conducted by PLDT’s wireless subsidiary in various parts of the country.

Philippine mobile operator Smart Communications has introduced LTE technology to the country. In Smart’s network, LTE is currently delivering download and upload speeds of up to 50 mbps.
