Verizon, along with Samsung Electronics, Motorola Mobility, and Qualcomm has achieved 5G peak speeds of 4.2 gigabits per second on its live 5G network. Using carrier aggregation, a technology that combines multiple channels of spectrum to provide greater efficiency for data sessions transmitting over the wireless network

Verizon recently enabled 5G service in Cleveland and Columbus, OH, and Hampton Roads, VA. In addition, the operator made 5G service is available in the professional football stadium and hockey arena in Buffalo, New York. With these additions, operators 5G service is now available in 31 cities across USA.

Verizon has turned on its 5G Ultra Wideband network in select areas of Minneapolis and Chicago last week. Verizon customers can access a commercial 5G network with the 5G-enabled smartphone, the moto z3 combined with 5G moto mod. 

Verizon, Ericsson and Qualcomm have completed the successful FDD Massive MIMO trial with a fully compatible customer device. This achievement builds on the momentum from the deployment of FDD (Frequency Division Duplexing) Massive MIMO (Multiple Input – Multiple Output) on Verizon’s wireless network in Irvine, California. 

Verizon has selected Ericsson to provide networking equipment for their commercial 5G launch. Verizon will deploy the pre-standard 5G commercial radio network and the 5G Core network in select markets in second half of 2018.

Verizon and Ericsson have announced the completion of their first deployment of FDD (Frequency Division Duplexing) Massive MIMO (Multiple Input – Multiple Output) on Verizon’s wireless network in Irvine, CA.  

Verizon, Ericsson and Qualcomm achieved 1.07Gbps (gigabits per second) download speeds with commercial silicon and network infrastructure using the Qualcomm SnapdragonTMX20 LTE Modem that supports Category 18 LTE speeds, during an Ericsson lab trial. 

Verizon plans to deliver 5G pre-commercial services to select customers in 11 markets throughout the country on its newly built 5G network.

Telit is collaborating with Verizon as a key supplier of IoT modules for the carrier’s LTE Category M1 (LTE-M1) service, company announced last week.  In cooperation with Qualcomm Technologies, Telit is delivering IoT modules in full alignment with Verizon’s features and timing requirements. 

Verizon, this week announced the availability of the world's first Cat1 LTE network features for IoT, along with new tools for itsThingSpace IoT applications platform that enable developers "to quickly and easily connect their devices to the Internet."

Verizon is all set to usher in a new era with an aggressive roadmap for fifth-generation, or 5G, wireless technology. By nearly all accounts, 5G technology should be introduced in the U.S. sometime after 2020, but Verizon is accelerating the expected rate of innovation.

Verizon and AT&T plan to enable VoLTE- to-VoLTE connections between Verizon Wireless and AT&T customers in 2015. Verizon introduced its Advanced Calling 1.0 services across the United States in September.  AT&T introduced VoLTE services in its initial markets earlier this year, and continues to expand to more markets across the United States.

US carrier Verizon Wireless has started offering HD Voice and Video Calling across its nationwide network on select smartphones. Operator has launched service as Advanced Calling 1.0.
