- G-RNTI
GERAN Radio Network Temporary Identifier, G-RNTI is an MS identifier which is allocated by the Serving BSC and is unique within this SBSC. It is allocated for all MSs having an RRC connection. The G-RNTI is always reallocated when the Serving BSC for the RRC connection is changed and deallocated when the RRC connection is released. The G-RNTI is also used at RLC/MAC during contention resolution.
