T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless Sign Spectrum Agreement

T-Mobile USA has inked a deal with Verizon Wireless that will allow operator to purchase and exchange of certain Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) spectrum licenses in 218 markets across the U.S. The transaction will improve T-Mobile’s spectrum position in 15 of the top 25 markets in the U.S.

Orange Starts LTE Pilot in Marseille, France

Orange France has started a LTE pilot in Marseille and plans to offer 4G in Lyon and Nantes by the end of the year. Operator will add 12 other cities by summer 2013. Orange will provide 4G equipments to 2,500 testers including Group employees and mass market and business customers to discover 4G services in Marseille, Lyon and Nantes.

Du Launches LTE Service in UAE

UAE telecom operator Du has stepped up mobile broadband experience with the launch of its LTE network. Operator expects to provide internet service at speeds of up to 100 Mbps with the new LTE Internet Key. The cost for du’s LTE Internet Key is a one-off payment of AED799 for the device, plus AED55 for a monthly data line.
