Audience and ZTE Deliver Always-on Voice Capabilities in the Star 1
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 08/20/14 -- Audience, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADNC), the leader in advanced voice and audio processing for mobile devices, and a pioneer in Multisensory processing and natural user experience technology for consumer devices, today announced that ZTE Corporation has selected the Audience eS704 Advanced Voice processor for its new Star 1 smartphone. The ZTE Star 1 is currently available in select online outlets for China Mobile, China Unicom and other mobile operators throughout Asia. The Audience eS704 features Audience's award winning Advanced Voice capabilities with Always-on VoiceQ.
VoiceQ technology extends the voice experience by keeping the phone in an extremely low-power and "always listening" mode so it is ready to understand and immediately act upon verbal commands without the need to touch the phone.
"The Audience eS704 was the logical choice to deliver true Always-on capabilities to our customers as we push to deliver new innovative features in our products," said Mr. Ding Ning, Vice President of ZTE Corporate and President of the ZTE Handset Planning Center. "Audience is consistently recognized as a leader in voice processing and technologies like VoiceQ will really set the Star 1 apart from other phones in the market."
The ZTE Star 1 offers multiple modes with support for TD-LTE, FDD-LTE, HSPA+, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA, GPRS, EDGE and GSM networks. The phone features a 5-inch HD screen and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. The Star 1 runs on Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat. Other hardware specifications include 2GB of RAM, 16 GB of ROM with a micro SD card slot, and 2300 mAh battery.
"Audience is pleased to work with a smartphone leader like ZTE on the Star 1 as we see a wave of adoption for our new eS700 series of products," said Robert Schoenfield, vice president of Greater China, Audience. "We feel that Always-on capabilities delivered through a natural voice interface can disrupt the smartphone industry and ultimately change the way people use their devices."
