D2 Technologies and BroadSoft Successfully Complete VoLTE Interoperability Testing
Santa Barbara, CA – February 27, 2013 – D2 Technologies, the market leader in embedded IP communications software platforms, and BroadSoft, Inc. (NASDAQ:BSFT) today announced the successful completion of interoperability testing for comprehensive Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and IMS MMTEL services over a single platform. D2’s mCUE® 4G IMS software client for VoLTE and RCS, paired with BroadSoft’s BroadWorks Telephony Application Server (TAS), gives service providers complete VoLTE functionality to better commercialize advanced 4G LTE networks and enable VoIP over WiFi services.
"A broad ecosystem of native and downloadable device applications is essential to the successful adoption of VoLTE,“ said Sam Hoffpauir, BroadSoft’s vice president of engineering. "We believe BroadSoft’s ongoing interoperability testing program for our BroadWorks Telephony Application Server furthers our ability to deliver pre-integrated, end-to-end solutions. We look forward to collaborating with D2 in ensuring interoperability as our respective products evolve."
BroadWorks is currently the most widely utilized telephony application server in global IMS-based networks, with more than 70 deployments. The platform enables mobile operators to seamlessly transition to LTE and next generation voice and messaging services while providing superior quality that meets customer expectations regardless of network. BroadWorks TAS supports the full range of applicable 3GPP specifications, including IMS Release 10, IR.92/94 and MMTEL services.
D2’s mCUE 4G is a converged 4G mobile communications client for Voice over LTE (VoLTE) and rich communications (RCS) video calling. mCUE 4G is tightly integrated and optimized for the Android™ OS platform to help carriers and device manufacturers deliver today’s most in-demand IMS communications features for smartphones, tablets, media phones and other mobile devices. With mCUE’s carrier-grade voice and video quality and field-proven interoperability, carriers and OEMs/ODMs can confidently commercialize VoLTE- and RCS-capable devices to bring advanced rich IP communications to 4G networks.
“Our successful test with BroadSoft is an important milestone toward providing a carrier-grade end-to-end solution that will allow the more rapid adoption of VoLTE,” said Doug Makishima, chief operating officer for D2 Technologies. “Together with BroadSoft, we provide an interoperable solution that meets the needs of mobile operators to accelerate commercial deployments of 4G LTE-enabled products.”
