LTE World Summit Announces Shortlist for LTE Awards

in press-release, LTE World Summit, LTE

London, 21 May 2013 – Submissions for the Telecoms.com LTE Awards have reached record numbers again this year as the organisers of LTE World Summit, which provides the backdrop for the awards, today announced those companies on the shortlist. This comes as the industry evolves and LTE continues to become the mainstream global technology for 4G networks.

Mike Hibberd, Editorial Director at Telecoms.com, says: “The move to LTE represents one of the most important shifts in the history of the industry. The Telecoms.com LTE Awards recognise the companies, people and technology behind the cutting-edge innovation we’re seeing in today’s market.”

Awards judge, Robert Joyce, Chief Radio Engineer at Telefonica, says: “This year has seen some really interesting concepts and products from both operators and vendors alike, especially in the area of small cells and self-organising networks.”

Now in their fourth year, the Telecoms.com LTE Awards are judged by an influential panel of senior and expert operator-led individuals, including: Sami Susiaho from BSkyB; Mansoor Hanif, Director of Network Integration and LTE, EE;  Marwan Zawaydeh, CTIO at Etisalat; Sergio Cozzolino, VP Innovative ICT Services Development at Telecom Italia; Martin Pineiro, Head of Innovation Lab, Telecom Personal; Robert Joyce from Telefonica; Pierre François Dubois, VP Product Development, Technocentre, Orange; Cyrille Joffre, CTO, Cable & Wireless Communications; Matthias Sauder, Head of Network at Vodafone; and Mike Hibberd, Editorial Director, Telecoms.com.

“We saw some impressive entries this year, some lesser known innovative solutions came out and this year's winners will certainly have earned their place, as the best of the best in their field,” comments Sami Susiaho, Head of Edge Technologies at The Cloud Networks a BSKYB Company.

Mansoor Hanif, Director of Network Integration and LTE at EE, adds: “The last twelve months have seen huge change in mobile networks; the mobile industry as a whole has now entered the age of LTE. This year’s entries to The LTE Awards fully reflect the explosion of innovation and creativity that continues to drive the industry forward, delivering a truly incredible mobile experience to more and more people across the world. The judging panel thanks all the entrants for the quality of their submissions, and congratulates those who have been selected for the shortlist. We look forward to seeing you in Amsterdam!”

The winners will be announced at an awards gala dinner and ceremony at De Duif, Amsterdam, on 25 June 2013. Congratulations go to this year’s shortlist:
