Ubiquisys ranked #1 small cell access point vendor by ABI Research
Swindon, UK - 12th March 2013 - Ubiquisys, the developer of intelligent small cells, has been ranked #1 access point vendor for enterprise and residential small cells by ABI Research. Alcatel-Lucent and ip.access took second and third place respectively.
This ranking recognises not just Ubiquisys' leadership in innovation with deployed technologies like ActiveSON® and CloudBase®, but also that this innovation is now embedded in the majority of Tier 1 systems integrators offering small cell solutions. The ABI Research Competitive Assessment is the most comprehensive and longest established vendor analysis of the small cells market. Access point vendors are assessed on innovation and implementation, and the results plotted in a matrix ranking.
The assessment comes at an inflection point in the small cells market, where service providers are moving their focus from residential femtocells to public access small cells for enterprise and indoor metro environments. This change is being driven by the increasing penetration of data-hungry smartphones and the cost advantages of employing small cells in the roll-out of high capacity LTE networks.
"We're delighted that ABI Research has recognised our continued leadership at a time when small cells are becoming a central part of the new mobile architecture," said Chris Gilbert, CEO Ubiquisys. "Harmonising WiFi, LTE and 3G, our latest modular products prove that small cells can improve performance, reduce operational costs and bring cloud applications closer to mobile users."
This competitive assessment is part of ABI Research's Enterprise and Consumer Research Service.
