  • Verizon Wireless has announced introduction of LTE network in 23 new markets and expansion in 41 existing markets. With this addition, operator's LTE network is now available in more than 410 markets across the United States, surpassing its previously announced goal of providing its mobile broadband service in 400 markets by the end of this year.  

  • Indian operator Bharti Airtel has launched 4G LTE services in Pune. This is third city in the country after Kolkata and Bengaluru to get LTE coverage from Airtel.

  • Alcatel-Lucent has won a major contract to deploy a part of China Mobile’s new TD-LTE trial network rollout as it extends services to 10 cities. Following the new rollout as well as upgrades to three existing networks, China Mobile's trial TD-LTE network will cover a total of 13 cities.

  • Space Data Corporation and Lemko Corporation have announced the successful deployment of the a satellite-based commercial LTE network. The network was deployed in Atqasuk, Alaska and offers subscribers mobile broadband data speeds of over 70Mbps. LTE over satellite is enabled by Lemko's patented DiMoWiNe™ (Distributed Mobile Wireless Network) software solution.

  • SAN DIEGO, Oct. 17, 2012 - Leap Wireless International, Inc. (NASDAQ: LEAP), today announced the launch of 4G LTE service in its Cricket Las Vegas market.  This introduction marks the second Cricket market launch in the Company's planned, multi-year introduction of 4G LTE technology for smartphones to its customers.

  • Telecom Italia has announced that  Telecom Italia Mobile is launching new ultra-broadband services using LTE technology on 7 November. Operator has begun network rollout in Rome, Milan, Turin and Naples. By the end of the year new LTE services will be rolled out to more than 20 cities, and then to the rest of Italy.
