  • Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) has launched LTE services in most of Moscow and 40 population centers in Moscow regions. Nokia Siemens Networks announced that it is the sole vendor for the TD-LTE network launch and a range of comprehensive services.

  • SK Telecom has announced two-way handover that supports both FDD LTE and TDD LTE in one device. Operator, together with Ericsson and Altair Semiconductor, demonstrated handover in between two different duplex modes of the LTE technology standard in a moving vehicle environment.

  • Nokia Siemens Networks has announced that it achieved a record TD-LTE throughput speeds of 1.6 Gigabits per second (Gbps). In the demonstration, the company used its commercial Flexi Multiradio 10 Base Station to receive and send data in simultaneous downlink and uplink connections, reaching an overall speed of 1.6 Gbps.

  • ZTE has signed a strategic cooperation agreement worth $40 million with Mobitel of Sri Lanka, company announced today. Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd. is a national mobile telecommunications service provider and a wholly owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka Telecom. 

  • Tekelec announced today that Telstra Global is offering LTE roaming services across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region using company’s Diameter Signaling Router (DSR). Tekelec’s DSR is providing the diameter signaling hub for Telstra Global’s IPX service announced last month.

  • SANTA CLARA, Calif., Sept. 13, 2012 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced a memorandum of understanding has been signed with the China Academy of Telecommunication Research (Telecommunication Metrology Center), or CATR (TMC). The two organizations have agreed to work together on TD-LTE MIMO over-the-air (OTA) test research.

  • Singapore's service provider StarHub plans to launch LTE network on 19 September 2012. At the same time, operator is also enhancing its 3G network with introduction of Dual Cell High-Speed Packet Access Plus (DC-HSPA+) for improved downlink speed.

  • Qatar's telecom operator Qtel has begun testing of its 4G LTE network, company announced today. Qtel plans to launch LTE service commercially in the end of 2012. Operator started to rollout its 4G LTE network earlier this year and is confident that it will integrate smoothly with the existing 3G network.
