  • Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE network is now available in 33 new markets and expanded in 32 other markets. According to the company, it is on track to meet its goal of covering more than 400 U.S. markets by the end of 2012. 

  • China Mobile Hong Kong (CMHK) has selected Ericsson and ZTE to build the seamless converged FDD LTE and TD-LTE  network in Hong Kong. The two companies have equally share in the form of 50 percent respectively on the network construction project. CMHK is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Mobile Limited. 

  • China Mobile International and US carrier Clearwire have signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MOU) for international roaming between China and the United States using TD-LTE.

  • SANTA CLARA, Calif. and MALAGA, Spain, July 16, 2012 - Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) and AT4 wireless today announced that they have signed a definitive agreement for Agilent to acquire the assets of AT4 wireless' Test Systems business.

  • Schaumburg, Illinois - July 17, 2012, Lemko Corporation, the leader in the development of all IP distributed mobile wireless network architecture, announced today the partnership with Space Data Corporation in providing a LTE Pilot License Save Network to meet their imminent FCC 2012 build out deadline.

  • US wireless carrier Sprint has announced that its 4G LTE network is now available in 15 cities surrounding the Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City and San Antonio markets. Sprint will also launch a 4G LTE network for residents in and around Waco, Texas.

  • Integrated telecom services provider, Omantel has announced the commercial launch of its 4G LTE network in the Sultanate of Oman. The LTE network launch comes after a series of trials which successfully delivered speeds of up to 100 Mbps. Company has awarded its LTE network contracts to Huawei and Ericsson end of last May.

  • Slovenia's mobile operator, Si.mobil has announced launch of its commercial LTE services. Si.mobil is a part of international telecommunication group Telekom Austria. Operator is currently offering LTE services in Ljubljana, Brnik, and Bled. 

  • Russia has awarded 4G frequencies to four telecom operators, Reuters reported today. The four operators are VimpelCom, Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), Rostelecom and MegaFon. Other bidders that participated in the spectrum auction, included TTK, Summa Telecom and Tele2 Russia.

  • Dresden, Germany, July 12th, 2012 – Signalion’s SORBAS LTE Test-UE is now available for testing LTE radio infrastructure equipment in the 400 MHz band. Among other bands, the 400 MHz band has become a very important band for the operation of LTE based public safety networks.

  • SK Telecom has announced demonstration of a LTE-Advanced technology named 'Enhanced Inter-Cell Interference Coordination (eICIC)' under cooperation with Qualcomm and Nokia Siemens Networks.

  • Canada's Rogers Communications is investing approximately $2.2 billion in wireless capital investments in 2011 and 2012, including close to $500 million to bring LTE to the majority of Canadians by the end of 2012. Operator has just completed one year of it's LTE launch.

  • Cambridge, UK – 10 July, 2012– Antenova Ltd., the integrated antenna and RF solutions company, announced the release of a LTE Antenna Reference Design for Smartphones which covers the global LTE bands.

  • AT&T has turned on its LTE service in Buffalo, N.Y.; Burlington, N.C.; Corpus Christi, Texas; Gainesville, G.A.; Greensboro-Winston Salem, N.C., and Wichita, Kan., bringing customers the latest generation of wireless network technology. AT&T expects its LTE deployment to be largely complete by year-end 2013.
