Singapore Has Top 4G LTE Speed Among 77 Nations
Singapore has best 4G LTE experience with a 46.64Mbps average download speed among 77 nations according to a recent OpenSignal report. South Korea is not far behind with an average of 45.85Mbps speed. European countries Norway & Hungary too have LTE average speed greater than 40Mbps. By contrast, the US has very low average 13.98Mbps.
LTE subscriptions have grown tremendously since last year. By the end of September 2017, there were 644 public LTE networks in service in 200 countries worldwide. These numbers are expected to grow up to 680-700 commercial LTE networks by the end of 2017. According to Ovum data, LTE subscriptions was 2.36 billion compared to 1.48 billion a year earlier by the end of June 2017.
During the test period from July 1 to October 1, OpenSignal took 50 billion measurements from 3.8 million devices between. The global average of 4G LTE download increased slightly from 16.2 Mbps to 16.6 Mbps in the last six months.
In terms of overall 4G availability, South Korea tops the list with 96.69% followed closely by Japan, Norway, and Hong Kong. The USA is on 5th spot with 86.94%.
