Alcatel-Lucent has signed a contract with Telefónica, to become a reference supplier for its 4G LTE network in Spain, company announced today. Under the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will deploy some 8,000 4G LTE base stations and the 5620 Service Aware Manager (5620 SAM).

Alcatel-Lucent and Surfline Communications have announced the commercial deployment of a 4G LTE network in Ghana. Alcatel-Lucent is providing hardware and software, along with installation, optimization, maintenance and managed services for this network rollout.

Regional Telecom, a communications service provider in Northern Iraq, and Alcatel-Lucent have launched 4G LTE network Iraq under the Fastlink brand. Alcatel-Lucent is providing its end-to-end 4G LTE solution, including base stations, IP mobile backhaul for 4G LTE and existing 3G CDMA traffic and Evolved Packet Core (EPC).

Verizon Wireless will begin deploying small cells into its 4G LTE network during the second half of 2013 working with network vendors including Alcatel-Lucent. Small cell deployments are part of operator's balanced approach to network capacity. 

Regional U.S. mobile operator nTelos Wireless plans to launch regional LTE services in US states of Virginia and West Virginia during 2013 using Alcatel-Lucent technology. nTelos Wireless operates in the states of Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Kentucky, and North Carolina.

Alcatel-Lucent has announced that the company successfully demonstrated full interoperability of its solution for using 4G LTE wireless technology in public safety applications in the United States.

Spanish cable operator R has conducted a trial of 4G LTE technology using LTE solution from Alcatel-Lucent for next generation entertainment and communication services such as on demand video, catch up TV and nomadic internet connectivity.

Alcatel-Lucent has demonstrated Voice-over-IMS and RCS presence technology to the Board of FirstNet (the First Responder Network Authority), an important step in the adoption of industry standards-based Public Safety LTE in broadband voice and data communications for emergency services. 

Alcatel-Lucent has signed an agreement with Etisalat to extend its’s LTE coverage across its footprint including a new partnership in Sri Lanka. Company also announced that Alcatel-Lucent and Regional Telecom, a communications service provider in Northern Iraq, are to launch the 4G LTE network in Iraq.

Alcatel-Lucent and China Mobile will unveil lightRadio Metro Radio on February 26th at the Global TD-LTE Initiative’s (GTI)  “TDD Night” during Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona. Available now for large-scale commercial deployment in China Mobile’s trial TD-LTE network, which spans 13 cities in China,

Telecom New Zealand will begin 4G LTE trial in parts of Wellington and Auckland from Friday this week. The Auckland trial will take place in parts of the North Shore on the 2600MHz spectrum and will be conducted by Huawei. Alcatel-Lucent will run the trial in the Lower Hutt area of Wellington, also on the 2600MHz spectrum.
