AT&T has turned on its 4G LTE network in eight new markets, with this expansion AT&T LTE is now live in 88 markets covering  more than 135 million people. The added markets include Provo-Orem, Denver, Daytona Beach, York, Milwaukee, Tacoma, Milwaukee and Louisville. 

AT&T has agreed to purchase spectrum licenses in the Lower 700 MHz frequency band from Qualcomm for $1.925 billion.

The European Commission announced addition of 120 MHz to the radio spectrum portfolio for LTE technology, around the 2 GHz band. Currently this band is used for 3G UMTS networks. It is mandatory for EU Member States to open the relevant spectrum by 30 June 2014 at the latest. 

Vodafone Spain has announced the availability of its 4G service in all provincial capitals and in the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla, from April 1. 4G services will be available in more than 220 municipalities, among which are the 80 Spanish cities with over 70,000 inhabitants.

Agilent Technologies today announced that it will demonstrate the latest LTE test application solutions at the LTE World Summit 2010, May 17 - 19, in Amsterdam, at the Hotel Okura, Booth 30.

Clearwire has launched Rover, a pre paid mobile broadband service which works on company's 4G WiMAX network. The Rover brand is mainly designed to attract young adults.
