Japanese carrier NTT DOCOMO plans to conduct experimental trials of emerging 5G mobile communications technologies with six mobile technology vendors: Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Fujitsu, NEC, Nokia and Samsung.

The transformation will enhance key services including high-speed data, voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Rich Communication Services for MetroPCS customers across the United States.

Yota has announced introduction of LTE Advanced technology in select LTE base stations in Moscow. According to operator, it will provide data rates up to 300 Mbit/s on the user's devices. Yota had launched commercial LTE network in Moscow earlier this year.
