According to a recent annual report by Open Vista, Ericsson and Huawei are top LTE vendors.

Telenor has opened its LTE network for mobile phone usage as well. Operator's LTE services so far were available on PCs and tablets only. Telenor launched LTE network in Norway two months ago in 11 cities and towns. 

Ericsson is commercializing the 5G NR radio for massive MIMO, with the first deployments coming in 2017. Together with the Ericsson 5G Plug-Ins announced in June and Ericsson's already commercially available Radio System Baseband 5216

According to latest edition of the Ericsson Mobility Report, nearly 2.6 billion new subscribers will be added to mobile broadband networks in the next six years. Report shows the highest year-on-year mobile data growth globally since 2013, led by massive growth in India, and highlights the underlying need for mobile data.

Huawei successfully completed an interoperability test (IOT) for an Ultra-Flash Circuit-switched fallback (CSFB) solution with Huawei infrastructure and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. chipsets at Huawei’s Shanghai R&D facility.

Yota has announced introduction of LTE Advanced technology in select LTE base stations in Moscow. According to operator, it will provide data rates up to 300 Mbit/s on the user's devices. Yota had launched commercial LTE network in Moscow earlier this year.

The Internet of Things, or IoT, is driving new use cases for wearables, including lifestyle and wellness apps, requiring more diverse device support on mobile networks.
