Huawei has announced that it had helped build a 3.5GHz LTE-A trial network in Japan. A recent demonstration of the network showed it could support a max 770 Mb/s download speed by making use of LTE-A technologies like Carrier Aggregation (CA), Coordinated Multi-Point (CoMP) and Cloud BB (Baseband).

Alcatel-Lucent and the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, along with the Nevada Department of Transportation and other first responders, conducted a six-month trial of a 4G LTE public safety network in a designated section of the city of Las Vegas in the United States.

Middle East's telecommunications operator Etisalat has selected Alcatel-Lucent to extend its LTE coverage in the United Arab Emirates. The new network will address the challenge of increasing demand for high-speed mobile broadband fueled by video, gaming and other high-bandwidth applications.

Deutsche Telekom's first LTE base station is fully operational in Kyritz/Brandenburg, Germany. In Kyritz, 800 MHz spectrum is used to provide efficient broadband coverage of rural areas.

Telefonica O2 Germany plans to launch two urban LTE networks in Munich and Halle by the end of 2010. Company is using 2.6 GHz spectrum in these areas.

Orange  France has launched 4G LTE services for corporate customers and will introduce LTE for consumers from February 2013. Operator has now switched on LTE in four cities - Marseille, Lyon, Nantes and Lille. Orange had started a LTE pilot in Marseille in June earlier this year.
