Indian operator Bharti Airtel has launched LTE services in three cities - Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula — in Punjab. The company, which had earlier launched 4G LTE services in Kolkata, Bangalore and Pune, is now readying to launch the services in the remaining licence areas.

The Saudi Arabian operator Zain KSA has selected Nokia Siemens Networks as its LTE network supplier and services vendor for Jeddah. The operator aims to address the growing demand for mobile broadband and smartphone data services by refarming its 1800 MHz GSM frequency band to offer 4G services. 

Airtel Gabon has selected  Ericsson as its sole supplier for the deployment of a new LTE network. The agreement also includes transformation of the existing mobile radio access and core network infrastructure. LTE 4G technology offers the capacity and the speed to handle a rapid increase in data traffic.

South Korea's KT Corporation is deploying next-generation small cell solutions targeted at the migration of LTE WARP to WARP+ for both Network and Service Evolution.

Telcel, a subsidiary of Latin American wireless services provider America Movil has launched commercial LTE network in Mexico. Starting last week, Telcel LTE network has coverage in 30 areas of nine major cities: Mexico City, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Queretaro, Puebla, Ciudad Juarez, Tijuana, Hermosillo and Merida.

Philippines operator Globe Telecom is continuously upgrading its network and expanding its LTE TDD and LTE-FDD footprint to further strengthen mobile data infrastructure and deliver faster and more reliable wireless internet connectivity.

Alcatel-Lucent and Telenor Group have signed a global frame agreement making Alcatel-Lucent a candidate provider for 4G LTE networks to the subsidiaries in 13 countries in Europe and Asia.
