Ericsson has introduced a new radio product, AIR 3246, for Massive Multiple Input Multiple Output (Massive MIMO), which is a complement to Ericsson’s global 5G radio offering. AIR 3246 supports both 4G/LTE and 5G NR (New Radio) technologies and is Ericsson’s first 5G NR radio for frequency division duplex (FDD). 

With the nationwide LTE expansion focus, Vodafone Germany plans to turn on LTE network in Düsseldorf this month.

South Korean operator KT has selected Nokia Siemens Networks as one of its LTE mobile broadband infrastructure and services vendors.

T-Mobile has upgraded its LTE network in Connecticut to Wideband LTE. T-Mobile announced that this upgrade brings up to a 50% increase in speed in major cities including Bridgeport, Danbury, Hartford, Fairfield, Meriden, Milford, New Britain, New Haven, Stamford and Waterbury.

Telekom Austria Group has picked Ericsson for its multi-standard radio network upgarde and to supply LTE infrastructure. Ericsson will upgrade the 2G and 3G mobile networks and also provide the LTE technology for Telekom Austria Group's subsidiaries A1 in Austria and Vipnet in Croatia. Rollout has already started.

Indian mobile operator Aircel has launched 4G LTE services in Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir. The launch comes within a month of operator's recent LTE deployment in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar and Odisha.
