Australian operator Optus has turned on its 4G TD-LTE network in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide to complement its existing 4G network.

Hong Kong's CSL Limited is now set to deploy LTE Advanced at 300 Mbps, operator announced today. In the demonstration of this technology, 1O1O and one2free showcased theoretical peak download speeds of up to 300 Mbps.

Telecom services provider Omantel has announced the launch of the second phase of its 4G LTE network in Oman. Operator has extended coverage to new areas in different parts of the Oman. The build-out of these new sites followed immediately the TRA approval to allocate the 1.8 GHz spectrum for 4G LTE use.

Namibia’s network operator Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) has commercially launched its LTE network. According to MTC, it has significant LTE coverage in Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia and expects to cover the whole of Windhoek with 4G LTE by the end of July 2012 .  

China Mobile plans to team up with foreign carriers to establish a TD-LTE trial network overseas in the next six months, reports China Daily.

The Mexican mobile service provider Telcel has been testing LTE at its corporate offices in Mexico.

Thailand’s mobile operator DTAC has chosen Alcatel-Lucent Agile Optical Networking to upgrade its existing 3G network and lay the foundation for a 4G LTE network that will eventually deliver 4G mobile access to more than 40 percent of the Thai population.
