March 1, 2010 – Last week EMT made the first LTE data transmission connection and launched Estonia’s first LTE test network.

SFR, the French telecom operator, has launched LTE in Lille and revealed network roll out plan for the second half of 2013. Operator plans national coverage with LTE in 55 cities by the end of the year.

MetroPCS has become first mobile operator to launch commercial LTE services in the United States.

Singtel and Ericsson plan to jointly establish a Center of Excellence (CoE) to facilitate 5G development and deployment in Singapore. With an initial investment of 2 million Singapore Dollars over the next three years, CoE aims to spearhead the development of Singapore’s 5G mobile network infrastructure to support future Smart Nation initiatives. 

ZTE is selected by operator Hi3G to supply LTE infrastructure equipment. Hi3G plans to build the LTE TDD/FDD dual-mode networks in Sweden and Denmark.

The two Polish mobile operators PTK Centertel (Orange) and P4 (Play)  has been allowed by the regulator to create a joint venture for wholesale business providing access to broadband

U.S. carrier AT&T has launched its 4G LTE service in 17 new markets on April 30. Operators LTE network is now live in 207 markets. AT&T 4G LTE is expected to cover 300 million people by year-end 2014.
