Russian operator Scartel (Yota) is planning to launch the first LTE base station, in Moscow and St. Petersburg in 2011, said company CEO Denis Sverdlov. 

3 Italia has launched LTE network in the village of Acuto, in the province of Frosinone. Operator plans to activate LTE service nationwide, beginning from Rome and Milan in the month of December.

Qualcomm and Asiaspace WiMAX Sdn Bhd have  signed a non-binding MOU to explore future deployment of LTE TDD technology in Malaysia.

Russian mobile operator Mobile TeleSystems (MTS) announced that it has built more than 2,000 LTE base stations in 2012. Operator's 4G LTE network now covers about 90% of the capital and more than fifty settlements near Moscow.

Namibia’s network operator Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) has commercially launched its LTE network. According to MTC, it has significant LTE coverage in Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia and expects to cover the whole of Windhoek with 4G LTE by the end of July 2012 .  

Ericsson and Qualcomm have successfully completed the inter-vendor interoperability testing of LTE Category 6, based on commercial LTE chipsets and infrastructure supporting Telstra's carrier aggregation bands. 

Ofcom today announced that 4G LTE mobile services could be available in the UK as early as this year. UK operator Everything Everywhere has already submitted an application to Ofcom to use its existing spectrum to deliver 4G services.
