Nokia is to completely modernize private nationwide LTE network for Ukkoverkot, the Finnish network operator offering wireless data communications services for infrastructure operators, the industrial IoT market, public safety authorities, the maritime industry and both residents and enterprises in remote areas. 

Kenya’s operator Safaricom has selected Nokia Networks as one of its partners to modernize and expand its 2G and 3G network infrastructure and to help launch the LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network in Kenya. The network launched in December 2014 will offer peak speeds of up to 100 Mbps.

Airvana has successfully demonstrated the end-to-end LTE femtocell solution in partnership with Hitachi Communications Technology Americas.

Telecom New Zealand plans to begin trial of LTE network over APT700 MHz spectrum next month. The upcoming trial will be conducted in conjunction with Huawei Technologies over 11 cell sites spread across three Waikato locations including central Hamilton and the Mystery Creek Events Centre. 

Telecom New Zealand is launching 4G LTE network across parts of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch today.  Telecom announced last month that access to its 4G network would be free for customers with 4G-capable devices. It has also made 4G available to its prepaid customers as well for no extra cost. 

Ericsson is working with regional wireless operators to provide LTE services in rural America. Company is providing LTE mobile broadband networks to eight regional wireless operators in the United States and Guam.
