Bouygues Telecom to Offer LTE-Advanced Services in France

French telecom operator Bouygues Telecom has announced commercial launch of LTE-Advanced network in Lyon, Bordeaux, Grenoble, Vanves, Issy-les-Moulineaux, Malakoff and Rosny-sous-Bois. Additionally, Operator plans to roll out LTE-Advanced in France's 16 biggest towns and cities from this September. Bouygues Telecom currently provides 4G coverage to 69% of the population in France. 

Operator has rebranded LTE-Advanced services as 4G+ and is offering the increased speed via aggregation of two frequency bands. Bouygues Telecom is also enhancing its 4G network, by widening the frequency band used on its 1800MHz sites, from 10MHz to 15MHz. 

From 1 July, Bouygues Telecom Entreprises customers will be able to acquire the first LTE-Advanced compatible hardware; Huawei's 4G+ gateway. And from July, Bouygues Telecom will offer its retail customers the Bbox Nomad 4G+ hotspot and then, from September, the first 4G+ compatible smartphones.
