NTT DOCOMO has announced that subscribers to its LTE mobile service surpassed 15 million on July 30. Operator's LTE subscriptions reached one million in December 2011, 10 million in February this year.

According to operator, recent growth has been supported by successful promotions for the new summer lineup, including special discounts introduced in May for the Xperia A SO-04E and GALAXY S4 SC-04E models.

NTT DOCOMO is expected to launch a commercial 150 Mbps downlink service in parts of Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya this October. Selected handsets compatible with the service will be introduced from the same month.
