Nokia Siemens Networks has been selected by Deutsche Telekom for immediate roll-out of LTE in 800 MHz band. Deutsche Telekom AG will launch LTE later this year in Germany.

A1 Telekom Austria has announced that its LTE network now covers more than 80% of the population in urban areas where as network coverage is currently around 30% in all of Austria.

LG Electronics have sold three million LTE smartphones globally. LG plans to significantly expand its LTE smartphones availability in 2012 as the number of countries offering LG LTE smartphones to grow from 10 to 20 markets by the end of the year.

NTT DoCoMo plans to launch commercial LTE femtocells between 2011 and 2012.

Estonian mobile operator Tele2 has extended its LTE network to Tartu in addition to Tallinn and its surrounding area. Operator expects to build new 4G base stations all over Estonia in the coming years and plans to increase its LTE coverage further this year, to Narva and Kohtla-Jarve.
